During the summer, activities include boating (bring your own boat - we have docks or rent a boat from one of the three boat rental places within walking distance of
LakeStar Lodge), kayaking (if you can't bring your own kayak - call the Lodge and we can have one available when you arrive), whitewater rafting (Garrett County was
the host of the 1992 Olympic Trails) - our rivers offer Class I, II, III, IV & V white waters - Also under construction is the NEW Whitewater Course at the top of Wisp
Mountain - Only a three minute drive from the Lodge), hiking on many of the trails (Garrett County is home to over 8 state parks - you'll never run out of a space to
walk), biking (not wanting to bring your bike - contact the Lodge before you arrive so that we can have a rental bicycle waiting for you when you arrive). If you plan on
bringing your boat with you on your vacation to Deep Creek Lake keep in mind that boat slips are available behind LakeStar Lodge for a small fee (please try to reserve early
as space is limited). Deep Creek Lake is the destination for all of your favorite water sports. Imagine a 3,900 acre lake where you, your family and friends can enjoy
waterskiing, jet skiing and scuba diving. This Lake is meant for adventure!

For those of you that love to hunt and fish, Garrett County is the place to be. Home of the largest state park in Maryland, Savage River Forest and the Mt. Nebo Wildlife

Winter is a bustle around Wisp Skiing, which is quickly becoming the finest ski resort on the east coast with world class snowmaking capability. To top that off LakeStar
Lodge is just a three minute drive away for all of the activities that Wisp has to offer. Imagine skiing or snowboarding down one of the 32 ski slopes as it is lightly
snowing around you, or snow tubing in the new "Bear Claw" tubing park. Also take a chance to participate in the skiing and snowboarding competitions to test your
skills against the area's best skiers. While you are here take a chance to check out dog sledding and cross country skiing at one of the many crosscountry skiing areas
in the county.

You may be wondering, what kind of attractions bring tourists to this area, for starters Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece - Fallingwater - a house built on top of a
waterfall. This house is absolutely a breathtaking site. Another reason to come - Swallow Falls State Park home to the largest waterfall in Maryland, called Muddy
Creek Falls.
When planning a vacation one of the things that is most commonly not thought about beforehand, but greatly regretted afterwords is, "Where am I going to eat?" When
vacationing at Deep Creek Lake that is never a concern, our local resturants take pride in providing guests with the finest dining imaginable. For such a small hometown
atmosphere you will never again experience such a variety of tastes. While here be sure to visit the local winery, Deep Creek Cellers, and be sure to pick up a bottle of
wine to take home. Interested in golf? Garrett County is home to two golf clubs and two miniature golf arcades nearby; Funland and Smiley's Fun Zone. Garrett County
offers the most in adventure sports, check out rock climbing, white water rafting and mountain biking.

the Lodge. As one of the most convenient hotels on the lake, our hotel is located near every type of activity that Deep Creek Lake has to offer. Wisp Ski Resort, 1/4
mile away, offers activities ranging from whitewater rafting and golf to snow tubing and skiing. We are also located close to all of the area nightlife, while still providing our
guests the peace and quiet that you deserve. Local nightclubs include the casual Black Bear, the famous Honi-Honi, the quaint Boardwalk and the rustic JG's Pub.
Nearly all of these have bands or Karaoke every night during peak seasons and on weekends during the rest of the year.

LakeStar Lodge was formally called the Innlet Motor Lodge. New owners took over in May of 2005 and the entire hotel has been newly renovated. Please feel free to
stop in on your next visit, during business hours and one of our dedicated staff will give you a tour. We also have a handicap accessible room that is Lakefront! All of our
